Air pin boxes

Looking for the correct configuration for a 5th Airborne air ride hitch Pin box for a 2003 carriage cameo LXI F35KS3. Since carriage makes their own frames I don't know which Frame model / bolt pattern to order for the pin box. Help please!

  • What I like about my Trailair is its adjustability, depending on the load or road conditions I can fine tune it.

Of course I have an on board compressor which makes it an easy job.

  • Do your self a favor and compare the Airborn to the TrailAir. The pivot point on the TrailAir is much longer to the kingpin. The Airborn is short so in reality the Airborn will be moving the RV/TV fore and aft every time the bag is compressed. Anyone that has towed with both will tell you the TrailAir is hands down a better product. More expensive but well worth the extra cost.
  • My 5AB works very good. It came on the 5er and I can tell you, my 08 model looks totally different from the new ones. The new ones look like they only have 1/2 the travel as mine. Craig
  • Trail air has a chart that you can download that gives the measurements to determine which pin box you have.
  • We have the 5th Airborne and really like it. If all else fails, I had found some drawings of different inboxes and was able to match what I had originally on the fifth wheel. We have an Extralite Wildcat so that may be a factor in what others are calling a lesser air ride pinbox. It works great for us and has improved the ride and the towing.
  • Not sure about other air hitches but I have a 5th airborne (for past 4 years) and would not get another one. Constantly needs air, and tows no better than my previous Mor-ryde non air. If you like dragging out the air compressor everytime you hitch up, get the 5th airborne IMO.
  • Ummmm...If I may, I have a 5th airborne on my Alpenlite right now. Had a Trailair on my previous Alpenlite. Same model trailer.

Spend the extra & get a Trailair. Much better performer.

Sure the 5th Airborne is better than no airbag at all but the Trailair is better by virtue of more than double the travel distance of pin movement.

Look at the existing pinbox. There should be a cross reference from whatever the current one is to the aftermarket one.

And if that doesn't work call Reese (5th Airborne). They have great customer support.
