Air Ride Hitch and Trail-Air pin box

Anyone have recommendations about using both together (air ride hitch and air ride pin box). Is it a good idea? Just got a new trailer with Trail Air pin box and considering a new hitch too.

  • Since I have both they do not fight each other, had this setup for 3 years and well over 10K mi. towing 20K
  • I have both, I have a trailersaver airhitch and a MoRyde Pin Box, rides and pulls great, Both do not fight each other. But if I had the Trailair pin box then Yes then its possible they could fight each other
  • You don't want both, they will fight each other. I have the Trail Air pinbox and a Curt hitch with rubber dampers, and they fight each other. I had to take the rubber out of the hitch.

  • I have both an Airsafe Hitch with the Trailair pinbox with Triglide option, no you do not need both. I would go with the air hitch 1st., it will do everything you want plus it's transferable to your next tow vehicle whereas the pin box is questionable about transferring.
Does your Trailair have anthing to control fore and aft chucking?
  • Our last fiver had a Trail Air and we liked it. Our new one came with a MOR/ryde and I was told that it was as good as a Trail Air, it's wasn't for us. We picked up an air hitch and now we have a great ride. I feel the air hitch is better than the Trail Air, but I sure don't think you need both.
  • I cannot think that both are needed. One should do the job. We have had our airhitch since March of 2001.
