What do YOU want to do? Answer that then decide how to do it. I certainly wouldn't let an unexperienced driver who can't stay alert drive a large TT and TV. Why would you even think that's a good idea? Find a nearby campground, stay there and tell the other family to call when they arrive. You need to take control of the situation , for the safety of your family.
