Crawl under the FW and crank one of the brake adjusters as tight as you can get it. Hook up when it's time to head out and then show the wife that you have a serious problem with the brakes and you need to stay home and tear into it.
Get out your little roll around stool and pull the wheel off and fiddle with the brakes or go down to the rv store and buy a brake spring. Geez, for the price of not having your rig drug across a tree it would be worth buying a whole brake assembly with backing plate and all.
What they dont know wont hurt any of them yet may benefit you tremendously. All that short term stuff is great for them since they just have to walk in the cabin door and flip the breaker for the well and the water heater.
There is no way in the world she should be pulling unless she can jump in it right now and tow it and put it anywhere you would put it.
If they dont feel that your are competent or trustworthy enough to be there without them then why would they want you around at all, or you them?
