Hello,
We are looking to buy a 44ft 5fer.m
I recently came across a Good Sam article with the trailer length limits per state. It looks like many states set the limit at 40ft. Is this something to worry about if you have the right tow vehicle?

Last time I checked, Arizona Revised Statues says that you can be 65' from the front bumper of your tow vehicle to the center of the rearmost axle of your trailer. In addition, you are allowed 10' of "overhang" from the center of the rearmost axle to the furthest rear point of the trailer =or load=. (Think of the outdrive on a boat trailer.) This means an OAL of 75' IF you have the 10' "overhang". If your FW has 8' from the center of the rear axle to the rear of your FW, then your unpermitted OAL allowed would be 73'.
As others will say, you'll have a =lot= more trouble finding camping spots than with LEO about your length.
