The problem has to do with the liability insurance carrier America's/Discount Tires use. I've run into the same two restrictions...pressure as show on the door sticker and no TT because they are not allowed to use a jack to raise a vehicle (only the lifts).
I actually had to sign a waiver to get them to put the pressure I wanted in the tires on my daily driver.
I was finally able to get the tires on my 5th wheel taken care of by jacking it up myself and taking off each wheel.
I've never had an issue with DT. My tires =exceed= the sticker, so if I want 80, I get 80; if I want 60, I get 60. On my Civic, sticker says 33, I prefer 35, which is on the tire, and they've never given me a problem with that. I've had them put 3 sets of tires on my FW, 1 D range and 2 E range, and had no problem. Backed in, they jacked each axle up with a floor jack under the spring perch, and I had new tires. Never had a problem with them inflating to 70 or 80 psi prior to a trip, either. How do they sell ST tires at all if they can't jack using a floor jack? A lot of trailers simply won't fit on their platforms. I see trailers in the lot almost every time I go to a DT. :h Maybe being in the People's Republik of Kalifornicate has something to do with it... Just sayin'...
