I don't trust Les Schwab. My wife works with a lady whose husband used to work for Schwab. Heard many stories about Schwab tactics. He couoldn't quit fast enough.
When I was looking to upgrade to 18" rims from 17", I thought I'd check Schwab out cause they're right up the road. While talking to one of their sales guys about rim ratings he told me that as long as it had 8 lugs then it will be rated high enough. Really? Went to the Discount Tire store I've been going to for years. Told the sales guy what I was intending to do. He asked if I towed anything. Said yes a 5th wheel. He opened up his catalog and we looked through it at different rims. Every rim I picked out he made a call to the rep and asked for load ratings. Interestingly during one call the rep said he wouldn't recommend the rim cause we tow a 5th wheel even though the rim had the load rating.
JMO but I feel Discount tries a little harder to satisfy the customer, where as Schwab wants to sell the customer what Schwab thinks they need. They always seem to act like the customer isn't informed. Some are informed.
I think after Les retired, things started going south for the business!
I needed new tires for the Ram, Les wanted $1,200 for four Toyo Open Country MS. Thought Ouch!!
Went to local Discount tire, and got a set of four Michelin LTX MS2+ for just at $900. Better tire lower price, great service. :h
