Seems like it would be more work to install/remove the mirror than to just get out a time or two and check the alignment. After some practice you'll eventually get it nut on anyway.
With the ball attach in front like most run its pretty easy to align the depth but I can see where it would be a bit harder with the coupler flipped around like you have it. I assume you have a long bed to run it that way?
BTW I have my T-handle mounted like yours through an existing hole in the kingpin. Initially I had it mounted to the fiberlass on the bottom side of the 5er but didn't like how it passed over the bed rail when turning reducing clearance. Kingpin attach is much better IMO and I already had the perfect size hole there to run it through.
