I towed for the 3rd trip with my Andersen Ultimate aluminum hitch. Nobody died, nothing broke, nothing came unhooked, nobody twisted, turned or pulled my unlocked handle...must be an anomoly... ...

I went back to their email and they said the mat is to be "set under the Ultimate Connection base". I think it is just meant to be between the base and the ribs and not to fill the gap between the ribs.
