I towed for the 3rd trip with my Andersen Ultimate aluminum hitch. Nobody died, nothing broke, nothing came unhooked, nobody twisted, turned or pulled my unlocked handle...must be an anomoly... ...

Actually, the GN ball is used to hold the Andersen hitch down (by pulling up on the ball). B&W uses the same method with their original Companion hitch, except it locks into the ball mount rather than the ball itself.
B&W also provides the strips to prevent mashing the raised ribs. It's the valleys that ride on the frame crossmembers...
