Is your RAM a long or short bed? Can't tell by your sig.
My Ram is a shortbed, SRW, Factory air rear suspension, and factory Gooseneck and 5er prep. Andersen hitch was the ball mount, which damaged my pin box resulting in my removing it. Replaced pin box with 5th airborne suspension pin box, and installed the puck mount B&W at the same time, hitch adjusted as far aft as it will go. Probably should have mentioned the suspension pin box in my earlier post as it could be affecting the lack of chucking I feel with my current configuration. I never towed a non suspension pin box rig with my current hitch/hitch configuration.
attached is a picture of the son in Laws rig hooked up to my truck when we had to move him from North Dakota to Wyoming. According to my GPS weather alerts, the road closed to "Light Trailers" for virtually all of South Dakota due to winds, and most of the Wyoming roads closed due to snow according the alerts on the GPS. We never encountered gates, but didn't make to the trailer park itself till the next day due to snow drifts in Rawlins itself. As you can see, with the Andersen configured to move the trailer back 8 inches it's about as far back as you can get.
I've only got a couple thousand miles of towing with my B&W configured the way it is. Tows great though, even in the winds when we got evacuated out of Washington's Cape Disappointment state park and had to tow through the high winds dodging debris and fallen trees to get to Gig Harbor. During that drive GPS re-routed us twice due to a road closed by flooding and another closed by fallen trees.
