The problem is that the pin box is being used in a manner for which it was not designed.
I would replace the damaged pin box. The metal fatigue already evident will not be solved by a spacer.
While that is true, why not just contact Andersen get the spacer ,and be done with it . If you own that pin box why wait until damage. I would want to prevent the damage if I knew the issue with that pin box, and the Andersen.
