- jkwilsonExplorer IIISmooth as silk. Hitching and unhitching are simple and it pulls nicely.
- hbillsmithExplorer3 years Andersen. Love the way it tows. Last year Forest River changed out my pinbox for a MorRyde rubber plate style pinbox and the Andersen feels even better. Andersen includes Lifetime warranty and they carry a $2M policy should their hitch ever damage your frame. According to Jason Anderson they now have 19,000 Ultimates on the road and no claims for damage have ever been made. A few of the early first runs did experience a slight bend and they were replaced under the lifetime warranty. The current design has no reported bend incidents.

How about the Pullrite hitch that has about the same design?
IMHO the PullRite has a MUCH more realistic tow rating.
Both rated 20k#
Steel Andersen and Steel Pullrite. Pullrite is lighter yet smaller and requires rails
I do not get how the Alu. Andersen gets 4k# more rating?
HA no one else does either!!!
Never heard of a steel 20k ANDERSEN fail. Can't say the same about the original Ultimate or the supposed upgrade.
BTW the proper spelling is "ANDERSEN" - Wild_CardExplorer

To the OP , IMO the Andersen hitch is the only way to go , you have heard from others, so no sense repeating. Unlike above, I have had both types of hitches, and wouldn't trade my Andersen for hundred B&W or Reese, or any other conventional hitch . - Cummins12V98Explorer III

IMHO the PullRite has a MUCH more realistic tow rating. - slapshot12ExplorerI have the gooseneck AUH with a B&W Turnover ball, and I'm very happy with it. I took the small center headrest off my backseat and I can easily see to line it up. It tows great, no noise or chucking.
- BlindGuynARExplorerI bought one and used it on a 2k trip to SD and back. I got tired of lifting in the B&W hitch.
Loved that hitch, but it just seemed to get heavier every time I lifted it. It towed pretty much the same. Although as a extra reason it did give me a few extra in's clearance between the lowered tailgate and trailer as a plus. The tail tailgate and sides on the 3500 meant I really had to be straight on while hitching up.
One thing I love about both hitches is there is never a question the kingpin is secured. With the Anderson I don't have to get in the back of the truck to pin the lever on the B&W, but I also visually can't know it's locked. I find myself checking the Anderson lock a lot where formerly it was a quick glance. It has never not been BTW.
It is also much easier to adjust trailer towing height than the B&W was. You can adjust the ball height in like 5 sec. I haven't figured out how to hook up my king pin stabilizer yet with the Anderson attachment, but I think a trailer Ball from wal-mart will get the task accomplished.
You have to lift up the trailer high to hitch on/off, but I find that automatically means I start the auto-level process above level so my auto-hitch height function always works.
Every hitch has things you like and things you don't. I'm very happy thus far. I did wait until after returning to sell the other hitch. Lifting it into the next guys truck was affirmation I'd made the right choice! - jay5erExplorerLook at the PullRite automatic slider--have used one for ten years and would not give it up!!!!
- Blazing_ZippersExplorer IIWe've had our steel Andersen for two seasons. Works well, no chucking, easy to remove from the truck, and connects to a B & W turnover ball. IF there would be an issue using this set up, it would be that you need to be pretty spot on when you drop the block onto the ball. If I had to buy another hitch, it would be an Andersen.
