annoying squeek

This is a weird one, but we have an 07 Jayco Designer. Have had an annoying problem with a squeak generating from the axels and suspension area. Really difficult to pinpoint the source. Had our dealer look at it and they do the same as I have done to stop it. Usually crawl under the unit and spray about a can of WD 40 over everything from the shackles, shock ends and about everything else. Stops it for awhile, but back ay it again. Any thought or ideas or products that might work. Thanks, Jim

Just squeaking when we walk around, especially going in or out of the unit.
  • Yep.... as others have said "creaking" & squeaking noises while maneuvering the trailer is usually due to those cheap plastic bushings used by the manufacturer's. There are all kinds of aftermarket kits available using brass bushings & "wet bolts" that can be greased with a grease gun that can be installed by any shop or you if you are mechanically inclined. I installed a "Trailaire" kit myself. Just google it, or go to u- tube.

Mine has squeaked from day two. Bought it 300 miles from home. Next trip out it was squeaking. Doubt anything is worn out as it only had 6 miles on it when we bought it. The factory is 6 miles from the dealer. Noisiest trailer I've owned. Last TT we had we put close to 10,000 miles on it and it never squeaked.

It does have the Trailair Equa Flex equalizer, for what that's worth.

And probably plastic bushing on spring/shackle mounts.

Yes, but weird or maybe not, that they would squeak so soon out of the gate compared to my last two trailers.

    Wet bolts will cure that!

    X2

Bet your spring bushings are worn out
  • You need to use a dry lube product instead of WD-40. White Lithium Spray or a Teflon spray will last longer.
