Several years ago I had a tire failure with Mission tires on a travel trailer @ the start of season 2 on the trailer. After that incident I did a complete report with photos to NHTSA. Nothing came of it. I educated myself learning much about ST tires. My 5er weigh 9800lbs. empty and the tires are LR E. I invested in a TPMS, air up prior to each trip and monitor the pressure during the trip. Report today said the failure was do to belt shifting (a manufacturing defect). Things I learned: 1. ST rated Not over 65 mph (I set cruise control @ 63). 2.just do to age alone ST loose 1/3 strength in 3 years (I was going to change them @ end of this season). 3. I carry 2 spares as if you have a failure, the other tire on that side will probably fail in 100 miles do to the additional stress it took (I changed both tires on the road after the failure). I am replacing these with LT's.
