OP, load heavy things in the rear where possible and do not use OD except on flat ground.
Actually heavy pin weight results in better towing aspect with a 5th wheel.
Too light and you get chucking
20% to 25% is common
My 5th wheel has a 14K GVWR yet has 7K axles/8k suspension and 16" tire with load rating of 3750#/ea
My wet pin is 22% of actual scaled weight
OP......
Do not lighten pin weight. You will not like the towing effect of a light pin weight
