Any ideas on how to free a rusted ball on B&W hitch?

Hey everyone, I finally concluded I have the B&W turn over ball hitch in the new to me truck I purchased. But the ball is rusted in the socket pretty good (or bad)...not sure when and if ever anyon...

Weld a 1" nut to the bottom of the ball. Now you can attach any thing to it to pull it out. Cut the nut off and your ball is still good.

I would not heat the socket. Heat may weaken it some way. Heat would be the last thing I would use after all else failed.
