Any Jayco Octane owners

My brother is looking at a bumper pull 222 model. In general I tend to hear good things about Jayco build quality, but have no first hand experience nor have I been inside of one. Looking for any feedback from other owners.
  • No experience with Octane, but we're on our 3rd Jayco, the first 2 purchased new and had for 10 years each. Initial fit and finish seems to be the biggest issue with Jayco. Things like misaligned doors, trim not fully glued on, just sloppy stuff like that. Otherwise they are solid well built units. I would recommend your brother joining the Jayco Owners Forum and ask the same question there.
  • I have a T24Z TH. Other than the lack of storage space for outside stuff, it has been a well built and trouble free trailer. It's a 2008 year model, and other than the chrome wheels rusting, still looks like new inside and out. I did a mod underneath the front bed to gain some storage that they wasted in their design, and insulated the generator box to make it a little quieter. Rubber roof is just now starting to get the white flakes, and the white plastics outside are starting to yellow slightly. All in all I'm very happy with it. But, I was also happy years ago with Terry trailers and their fit and finish quality, and saw the slow decline after 3 different models ( 2 used,1 new)to the point that I went away from them about 2006. All the new trailers we have looked at lately seem cheap and poor fit and finish. Just a sign of the times?
