Hi all! What a great forum; I have learned so much in particular from this thread.
My wife and I are picking up a 2010 Mountaineer 347THT today so we have something to transport our 2010 Victory Crossroads in. :) I've seen all the mods people have made to their rigs in order to safely transport their bikes, and I'm interested in maybe installing a wheel chock in mine. I'm curious, though, as to whether or not it's necessary. I have no problem with the cost of the chock (I checked out Harbor Freight's version), but I'm a little concerned with opening up the underbelly to properly install the chock, and then making sure it's completely sealed back up like factory new.
I've transported bikes in the back of a pickup using only tie-downs and never had a problem, so I wanted to hear from you guys with more experience on the importance of using wheel chocks. My bike is about 765 lbs dry.
Thanks!
Greg
