The closet has plenty of space. We've lived in ours for over 2 months a couple of trips and the only problem is it holds too many clothes - we never wear them all! The closet depth is fine too. The doors always close easily and nothing tries to hang out while we're closing them.
Unless you're going to be camping a lot with no hookups, the generator won't get used a whole lot. We have 2 Honda 2000s that we did use a lot on our Alaska trip this past summer, but we bookdocked quite a bit. They were set up in the back of the pickup so all we had to do was plug in and fire them up. Usually only needed one.
When we spent a couple months in Florida last winter, we only took one of the Hondas with us and only used it a few days when we were camping in the relatives back yard with no hookups. The Fantastic fans really work well up to about 85 degrees. Any hotter than that and we head for the pool or beach anyway, or we find a campground with at least 30 amp service.
I like the Hondas because we can use them at the house if the power goes out for for whatever else we need. They're pricey, but a lot cheaper than a built-in Onan.
Hope that helps some.
