RK Hauler: The DW works the controls while I am on the bike. The winch I bought has a control box on a 6 ft cable. We use one of those battery jumper boxes to power the winch(works great and light to carry). This saved running heavy wires to the back of the unit to power the winch. I use a long soft tie from frame of bike to winch hook. Going up the ramp isn't too bad, just stopping before going through the wall bother's me. But I dreaded skidding down that ramp when taking it out. Like I say, It may take 15 min extra time setting up the winch but worth it.
