I'm thinking the front of the chock should have some clearance from the kitchen/pass through wall of say about one inch as bikes can flex the front stop just a bit when dropped into the chock. I'm centered between d-rings and my chock is 1 inch back from shelf wall. With the Ultra & tourpak I wanted enough room at the rear door to get around the bike when hauling.
