Any one towing with a F250 6.2 Gasser?

If so what brand of unit do you have? We are going to the RV show in Atlanta and will be looking at 5th wheels. We will be in the market for a new trailer some time this year.

We have a 2015 F250 6.2, we will not be towing anytime soon through high mountains, mostly just staying here on the east coast.

Looking for a unit that can handle some cold winter camping. No bunk house or outside kitchens. Looking for some ideas of what others are towing with a gas vehicle that like their units.

Most likely staying around 12,500 GVWR, hitch weight of around 2000 - 2200lbs.

Thanks

  • If you did not get the heavy duty trailer tow package option, I strongly suggest upgrading the radiator and adding an auxiliary transmission cooler.
  • Looking at some Jayco models but really like this one:

The cargo capacity on my truck is 3100lbs and max towing weight of 13,300.
  • Towing rig in sig, my 13 250 6.2 would have no problem carrying a pin of 2200+, but is rated to tow 12,300 FW.

  • Had one...put it in M and shift manually in the hills...you will like that better.
  • Towing 10000 pound (scaled) 30 ft mid profile 5th wheel. Tow from Alberta, Canada to Arizona every winter and all through Canadian rocky mountains in summer. 2011 F250 6.2 4.30 axle has no problem towing that.
  • My brother in law is using a “15” F-250 with the 6.2 and likes it. He is dragging an 11,000# Travel Trailer...

It will all depend on the size of the fifth wheel, after all its not as much about what you can tow, it’s about what you can carry when it comes to fifth wheels
