I had a repair done to an EPDM roof once after running through a sharp tree branch. It worked out great but be sure whoever does it really knows what they are doing. I talked to the guy quite a bit about it and you MUST use the right stuff and do a lot of prep work. It's all about getting the patch and the original surface to mate together and bond.
