I have a 2009 F-450 DRW and I stand about 5'8". The only way I can remove the pin and open the jaws on my BW hitch is with a step stool. I was wondering if anyone has done any mods to make it easier to pull the bar forward to open the jaws? If not, I'll keep using the step stool until I think of something clever!

I’m 6’1” and often use a step stool.

I'm about the same height and I stand in my outboard dually wheel. I don't know how you could get the bar easier to open, maybe a bit more accessible would be what you need.

I use to step up on my outer dually to release handle and install the lock pin. I now have a step that mounts over the tire after blowing out my ankle stepping off the dually and onto the edge of the concrete pad while camping last June. I spent 6 weeks in a boot with 3 weeks on crutches.

Well I'm a tall 5'10", and I thought using my fancy step stool is clever. It is handy for other uses also while camping. The pin, or lock in pin hole is a reach without it for sure.
