I had a 2000 Silverado 5.3l and 3.73 rear end. Pulled a 1998 Jayco 23RK(gvw 7000 lbs) and was a good matchup. Loved that little 5th wheel!
Any half ton since 2000, with appropriate engine, should pull the fifth wheels being talked about with no problems.
