You have not stated what tow vehicle you will be using. If it is a short bed truck, then if you special order, Forest River offers the Sidewinder(Reese Revolution) pinbox as an option, then you don't need a slider hitch, also easier backing the trailer. Do the dealer units have this option?

I haven't purchased that yet either Dayle1, but anticipate that we will end up with a short bed as we are seriously looking at getting the dodge megacab or Chev extra cab so didn't want to big a truck with the added long bed.

This might be harder than getting the FW, especially in Texas. You might want to extend your search area for the truck well outside TX, to the point of flying in to a different state to get the truck, then driving to TX. Even newer trucks in TX can be very high milers. Not uncommon to see trucks only 2-3 years old with 200-300k miles on them. I haven't checked out the 2 FWs you're looking at, but make darn sure that the truck will handle the payload. Don't discount single wheel 1 tons, either.
