Even newer trucks in TX can be very high milers. Not uncommon to see trucks only 2-3 years old with 200-300k miles on them. I haven't checked out the 2 FWs you're looking at, but make darn sure that the truck will handle the payload. Don't discount single wheel 1 tons, either.

All our research & feedback suggested to us the complete opposite of this, most suggested purchasing in Texas. Besides our destination choices were limited and we already have tickets to Dallas. Being able to fly direct with no stop over & avoiding LA, and with 3 kids in tow was definitely the clincher.
