Anyone tow their 5'r with Cooper AT3's??

After a 37% failure rate over 2 sets of BFG Trail T/A's, I switched to a set of Cooper Discoverers. These are sort of an all-terrain tire and are exclusive to Discount Tire. So far, I'm happy with them. Decent traction in mud/wet; being in AZ, unlikely to encounter snow, though. :B They work extremely well on pavement, as I found out when I had to do a 3-lane evasive maneuver to miss a blue hair that pulled out in front of me. Went from #1 lane almost to the curb, 2 lanes over, then back, in < 100 yards doing about 45-50. Didn't roll, didn't spin out and almost no tire squeal. The thing that amazed me almost as much as the tire performance was =me=! Wasn't even breathing hard and I don't think my pulse even went up. :B

Oh, yeah. They also seem to tow pretty well, though I haven't yet done much with them.

Here are my options:
Michelin AT2's for about $950 installed
Cooper AT3's for about $725 installed

The Coopers were on my short list, but went with the Toyo AT2. They handle everything well , including towing a 38' fifth wheel in the same weight range as you mention.. IMO the Coopers will do as well. Depending on how well the Toyo's do, most likely I will give the Coopers a shot on the next set.

I would go the Coopers long before I would any Michelins, from past experience

Ran Michelin AT2s for over 100,000 miles towing a 14K 5th wheel.

Came time to set new tires and not FTng anymore I went with Cooper Discoverer recently.
Had run Coopers for years in the past and was always pleased with their performance/durability

NOT at all happy with these Coopers!
Feel like 'square' tires when cold......thump, thump, thump until they warm up.
Otherwise OK

Will NOT be buying another set when these wear out.

Thats pretty crazy ,have two friends with Michelin AT2's. At 30K they were pretty much done. 100K towing a fifth wheel , impressive.

I'd pick the Coopers over the Michelins even if the prices were reversed. I'm running AT3's on my wife's SUV right now and they've been great in all 4 seasons. I wouldn't hesitate to tow with a set of them on my truck although I'm running KO2's currently. I think Toyo is another good option to check out if they're available (Open Country AT2). Or if you want something a little more aggressive check out the ST Maxx Cooper makes.

On our second set of AT3s. Tow very well, great grip on snow. Towing heavy about 50% of our miles, first set of AT3s went 43k mi. TheOEM firestones lasted 55k mi. but were slippery on snow. 265 16s on a SRW 3500 16k 5er

It's so hard when I read roughly reviews on these two tires and overall they don't lean one way!
But I'll keep listening and reading until I have to take the plunge next week!

I'm running Cooper Discoverer's on my 03 Dodge Ram 2500 which are replacements for Michelin AT's. After just one 2,000 mile trip pulling my relatively small 5th wheel the rears are wearing out on the edges and I'm running them at 80 psi the max recommended.

They are the same size and load range,rangeE.

I know you asked about the Coopers but I'm running Toyo AT2's which are virtually identical to the Coopers and I'm towing around 13.5K lbs and they seem to handle great.

I've always ran the Cooper AT3's in the past but this last time around I thought I'd try something different and have been pleased so far.
