Yes, SOME 1/2 tons can pull a 5er, but not all. Now days 1/2 tons payloads range from a small load of grocery bags to more than many 3/4 tons! The truth is that the bell curve for payload is lopsided towards the low end.
If you are looking at a new TV, you might think about the F150 Max/Max, it will carry a fair sized 5er within capacity.
Get a 1 ton SRW, and have a great TV for a 5er up to between 14,000 to 16,000 GVWR.
