Are 5th Wheelers easier to tow & best mfgrs
Probably a silly question but I'm assuming less sway issues with a 5th wheel? Was also wondering what the maximum size is to safely trailer with a 1/2 ton truck and are there some manufacturers/models...

I have just went thru this very process of deciding on a 5er for my 1/2 ton f150 (options make it a heavy 1/2 ton) I have the towing package with cooler, towing ratio rear end and increased payload. I just purchased a 2004 sprinter 252, its loaded weight is 8300, 500 under my max, its pin weight is 1200 and with the increased payload the truck handles it well. I did spend a lot of time looking for the best unit within my trucks capabilities and looking for good used units within its range was difficult. (very happy with what I got) beware some dealers did try and sell me more than I should have got. with ""well you don't need water"" and ""the tanks can be empty"" etc, etc. if you are looking at new there are a few great light weight units out there, I just couldn't afford them, (even at 20 years financing) take your time and watch the details.
