For what it is worth We had some friends of ours go to a campground for a girls softball tournament and they didn't make reservations. They just winged it. On the last day of their stay they had to move because it just so happened that people that had made reservations happened to show up and the park was full as a result, so my friend had to break camp. You can play it any way you want, but if the day or place comes that the place is booked it will be just like the airlines You will most likely get the boot and you will find yourself looking for boon docking in the middle of nowhere just to stay close. Now we RV mostly in the eleven western states and I don't know how they run campgrounds east of the Mississippi, but out west with a lot of NP you better make reservations.
