Attention Weight Police

I had fishing poles, two chairs and small grill plus cables, hose to hook up with that it in the basement. The bed of the truck and couple of rubber calks and rubber mat. Just me and wife and the normal small things you carry in the truck and small bag of tools. I had zero clothes most of the kitchen stuff was in the kitchen area. People tell me that impossible but I have one other 315rst that did the same thing with a big jump in pin weight. All tanks were empty. I do have a B&W hitch that probably weights a little more than yours. These scale weights are with my F350 but the pin weight was 2780 hooked to my 2500HD

and I have found the same thing that dry pin weights are way off. I had Chevy 2500HD diesel with CC 2475 (1950 CCC loaded ready to go camping) when I purchased the 5er and end up upgrading to F350 to get the CCC of the truck. I fund most of my retirement I called a cheap price to CYA in case of a accident. Just to many lawyers advertizing for cases of over weight RV for my liking.

If there is no difference between a 250 and a 350, why is there a 250 and a 350?

As was said, to fill a market niche. Also, many states' registration is weight-based, so having a lighter-rated truck means cheaper tags.

Two things one if it just registration you do know that F350 standard GVWR is 10,000 lbs and anything above that is optional that has to be ordered as an option. Now, why is there a need for 250's?

I weighed it without water. I believe the water is just in front of the axles and its 60 gal. but I usually only carry half or so.

In 2011 the taller blocks did not come with the camper package on the 250. Only the overload spring.

Does your F250 have the camper package? This package adds the F350 SRW overload springs and a taller block to the rear suspension. If you don't have it yours will squat down a lot more when loaded.

If you do I would be looking at the trailer axles and make sure they are tracking.

Recently I saw a 5th wheel toy hauler that was tracking to one side by more than a wheel width. As I watched the trailer every 500-1000 feet the trailer would jump over in line with the TV. I suspect the driver of that setup had his hands full keeping everything straight down the road.

Chucking is the same whether the swivel is attached (always with bike) or not.

No usual wear in 7000 miles with the current G614's. Chucking was present before tire change.

What did you do to correct the chucking?

I would be interested to see the CAT scale weights for your setup.

Changed from a Trailair to a Triglide in 2013. Took about 85% of the chucking out.

Those two hitches just mask the issue they DON"T FIX IT!

Look for the root cause.
Low pin weight. 23% as noted above
Very Good shocks on the TV Bilsteins, no affect on chucking
5er towing level It's within 1 inch, nose high
Shocks on all 5er axles No shocks, might help, might not

JMHO

Those aren't hitches, they are pins.

A change in hitch from the current 16k Reese might help. If I could get a manufacturer to let me try out their "wonder" hitches, and it worked, I would buy it. Not going to just throw money at a maybe. Had a cheap hitch on my previous 5th wheel set up long ago and no chucking. So a hitch is by no means a sure thing. The Tri-glide was an almost sure thing, and it actually helped a lot.
