Atwood hot water heater

We have a 22 ft 5th wheel with an Atwood MPD-91043 water heater. I have the temp control all the way up and the water will still not get hoy enough. If I run a bit of water then wait 10 min the water is hot enough. It seem like the tank will not cycle enough. Any ideas from anybody? Thanks

  • Typical causes of water temp problems on pilot water heaters

    INSUFFICIENT WATER TEMPERATURE
Temperature selector out of place--------------Re-set to desired position

Valves improperly positioned---------Check that bypass valve is closed

Improper air adjustment------------------------Adjust main burner air shutter approximately 1/4 way open

Partial main burner blockage------------------Remove blockage (run bottle brush thru tube...clean ofifice with alcohol)

Improper main burner adjustment------------Re-align main burner and main burner orifice holder (should be 'straight' shot thru tube)

Flame spreader mis-aligned--------------------Re-align or replace main burner (should be parallel to end of tube)

Blocked “U” tube--------------------------------Remove blockage (run bottle brush thru combustion/exhaust chamber)

Also check any hand held shower wands.......turned off at hot/cold knobs and not just on handle.
