Why is it that every time (other than Airstream) a RV comes to market with a better build model, it fails because of cost? We went to fall RV show and the wife noted how all the cheap units had 3 & 4 sold signs on them & very few of the higher end units even had one. The vast majority of people have no clue on construction quality because it is unseen, most buy on the 50 inch television and never even see the OSB.
30% of buyers are newbies. My son just bought his 1st Tt last year. He bought a Coachman Clipper. A cheapo. But as I showed him it's a little better than some of the other cheapos. He only goes out for 3-4 times a year. No reason to buy one that costs twice as much. As much as it would be nice to have a more expensive RV I see no reason to lose even more money on depreciation. Face it they're all money pits. They're toys to most. Homes to others. If you're full timing then by all means get something thats going to be comfortable 24/7/365. No sense in dropping big $$$$ for weekend warrior use.
