Auxiliary Fuel Tank options

Hey Folks!

We would like to add an auxiliary fuel tank to our F350. We have been looking at the in-bed models from TransferFlow, Titan, etc.

I would like the tank to fit under a tonneau cover.

Do you guys have any experience with these tanks?

We are also looking at the replacement tanks that mount under the truck bed. However, these make me a little nervous with possible road debris causing issues. This version leaves my bed free, which is a big deal.

What do you guys think?

Thanks so much!
  • Good idea!
    I have this tank: http://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=ATI-AUX41RIKC
It fits under my tonneau cover just fine.
    Had my mechanic install it.
It has been just fine for several years.
I use an additive (Stanadyne) which comes in a bottle that treats 30 gallons. So I add the Stanadyne and fill the tank with 32 gallons, then let it flow into the truck's stock tank.
    This works for me.
There are many vendors, sizes and shapes.
    Happy shopping!
  • I added an RDS 45 gallon in bed tank to our '06 RAM a few years ago and then transferred it to our '15 RAM in the spring of 2015 shortly after buying it. I love the extra fuel I can carry! If I had one regret it is that I should've bought a slightly larger tank, maybe 60 gallon.

There are all sorts of configurations and brands of tanks to choose from, I chose RDS and gravity feed for it's simplicity. Yeah I have to manually flip the switch instead of switching it from the cab but I'm OK with that. I like being able to pick & choose where and when I buy fuel.
