The upper end of the awning slides into a groove on that, and the upper end of the "cap" slides into the awning groove on the trailer. yes, that is what I added to my last motorhome over the windows and patio , with the aluminum cover at the RV. my slide toppers were from the factory and came with the RV and were not aluminum sheathed. I wanted to delete them and buy the kind that moved independently from the slide but since winnebago wouldn't give me any credit, I just had the factory ones installed. I understand that type of slide awning is no longer made?
