His 22,000# includes his truck and maybe it's passengers which also has 2 axles. His post says "grossed 22,000# with 80 gals of fuel". You certainly don't put 80 gals of fuel in a 5th wheel to run the engine it doesn't have!
We have found the roads to, in, and from Alaska in our several trips to be as good or better than the roads in the lower 48 or the rest of Canada. The only bad stretch is where sue.t had noted and they are working on it and have for years now or the areas under construction and nearly all have pilot cars that you nust follow at 25mph or slower just like all the other vehicle or rigs do in your line. Freeze breaks or frost heaves or what ever you want to call them are well marked and if you are driving at the speed limit or sensible speed for the rig you are driving, there's plenty of time to slow down to go over the small areas. Making excuses for driving like a fool towing only reveals one's real lackings!
