Backup Camera ?

I'm thinking of adding a backup camera to help spot the pin and hitch in my truck when hooking up. I would like to install the camera inside the truck on the rear of the headliner facing towards the hitch. I'm sure someone has done this so I'm looking for recommendations on camera systems. problems with shooting the camera through glass and any other recommendations or cautions.
Thanks
Bill
  • I did basically what you are going for. I mounted a rear view camera on the back of my toolbox. It allows me to see the pin and hitch while the toolbox is open which saves the inevitable multiple cycles of opening the toolbox to get out what I need to hook up followed by closing it so that I can see. I use the bumper mounted camera to get close and then switch to the box cam to finish it off. I will try to take some pictures this afternoon.
  • I was looking at a system at Sam's yesterday that was a high level dash cam and also a rear view camera. would kill two birds with one device.
