Bad day, need input

The other night we had some bad storms come through; in the morning I got up and left for work as normal. I work a 24 hr shift, so when I came home and started working outside I noticed my camper. A decent size tree branch fell on the roof and punched a hole clean through, and cracked some of the fiberglass front nose. It gets better, since the hole is clean through there was a significant amount of water inside the camper. The heating ducks have visible water in them. I am planning on contacting insurance in the morning, I am wondering if any of you guys have had to deal with insurance on something like this and how the process goes. I have state farm, any input will be greatly appreciated.

  • This may help in finding a decent repair facility: http://www.rvservicereviews.com/
  • write everything down, and insist its a total loss , why?, because now theres mold in and under the wood. even if you gotta get a att.
  • Thats what worries me between the water that was in it, and where the hole is located. It is just behind where the fiberglass nose goes over roof membrane. I am worried about a bad patch job if that is what they do and have leaks later on down the road. I have a camping world that I used and had a horrible experience getting my slide toppers installed. Guess its time to get on google and find somebody. I put my cover that I have for it over it, and removed everything that I could that was wet and vacuumed up all the water that I could get up.
  • Protect the rig from further damage, call the insurance and have them handle it.
Mine went though a hitch when large limb came through roof and cabinet. Repair facility and insurance did everything. Made a couple adjustments without any question.
Hardest thing is finding a good RV repair facility.
