Bed struts

How much does that convenience cost? I'm thinking it would have to be a lot more than a couple of simple gas struts.

Went from the stock 60lb struts to 80 lb with our new king bed mattress......worked great!

We recently went from an air bed to a dense memory foam. Couldn't lift the bed by myself. The struts were old anyway and one was bad. DH ordered 2 off Amazon and put heavier lift ones on it to compensate for the added weight. Easy peasy.

We went from 100# to 110# on our queen.

I would certainly opt for the stronger struts.

We just doubled up on the struts after putting an 18" deep memory foam mattress on the bed. The original struts were already pretty much done. I picked up a pair of 90lb (I think) struts and the weight of the mattress kept it down. Lifting was easy peasy and the 4 struts kept the mattress up in the air until pressure was added to bring it back down. Some trial and error was required and, of course, YMMV.

I'm sure that 120# would be too much plus the compressed length is too long. I've found the correct size just trying to whether to stay with the stock 60# or go to 70#

I don't know what it was like when they were good as we just bought the 5'er last fall. That's why I was asking if anyone had done it and the result. Yes it's a bear lifting it at present and of course it won't stay up

I haven’t done it, but considered it after adding the extra weight of 3” mattress topper. The extra weight made it a very heavy lift. If It lifted relativity easy with the original struts , stay with them. If it was a heavy lift, go with the heaver ones.
