nitrohorse, that was probably a good move with the extended warranty purchase. We did the same thing last year for the same reasons. What I didn't expect was how horrible Keystone RV was at honoring their factory warranty! That one year factory warranty has come and gone with repair denials so now we will have to depend on our extended.
I agree. My wife actually talked me into it. Do you believe it was Keystone who fought the warranty claims or the dealership? I was told that the dealership plays a large part in what is approved or not?
No, it was all Keystone RV. There seems to be many newer models that are starting to have roof issues (raised staples, roof membrane coming up, etc.). Dealers are looking at them and writing up suggested warranty repair orders only to have Keystone RV refuse to pay. I have been going back and forth with them for months, they have now confirmed that I "may have" a roof problem and want me to take it back to the dealer again for an inspection, estimate, and warranty submission.
I have only owned Keystone Montana models (one used and one new). So I don't have any other experience with RV manufacturers factory warranties. But I am not impressed with how Keystone RV treats their customers under warranty and I sure won't be buying another one unless something drastically changes.
