Just got a new 2015 GD Reflection 303RLS. Not wanting to make mistakes waxing the exterior, which wax do you like on an rv and can you apply it to the decals as well. (On my old rv I tried a polyme...

I've been researching this too. In searching the forums
Red Max Pro 3# / Zepp - there was a lot of discussion about this but I never could figure out why. It is a floor restoration product people were hot about using on RVs a few years ago.
"Searching the forums", and Red Max Pro - sometimes simply called "RMP" in threads.......
If you haven't already - Make sure you search the archives for threads over 12 months old.
(Don't limit it to trailers)
There was LOTS of info on RMP and the several steps for "prep" prior to using - like the use of BKF - "Bar Keepers Friend, etc.).
Several posters with "before and after" pics - (I recall a Class C MH) as well as follow-up info to/for renewing the finish.
The above is just an "FYI" - not an endorsement -
P/M-ing one of the posters might work for an update for happy/unhappy follow-up.

To buff or not to buff?
A few years ago I ws at the (So.CA) Orange County Labor Day Cruise.
Mr. "Car Crazy", Barry Meguiar - his film team and products trailer - were there "as usual".
I was wondering the same thing (as the thread) - and caught him at the Meguiar's Trailer.
One of his employees gave me the name of their product to use, as well as recommending buffing - writing it down on the back of a business card.....while Barry observed and nodded in agreement.
Edit:
Tracked down the Meguiar's card.
His recommendations for mildly oxidized gelcoat 31' 5th wheel,
which he wrote on the back, inc'l the numbers:
1. "Rent a dual action polisher".
Said you could buy one (including the one they sell), but no need to do that.
2. "Buy 3 yellow foam pads".
3. "Use a cleaner wax".
Nope - he didn't write down which one and/or if he did verbally, I don't recall which..:(
However - - (the card is for) the Meguiar's Customer Care Center:
"Help lines open Mon-Fri, 6AM - 6:PM Pacific time".
Call for additional help and/or info. - (800) 347-5700
BTW - Everything said about 303 Protectant is "right on"!!..:C
.
I was one that did the red max pro. It made the 2001 alpenlite look great for 3 years but then the flaking started.
I removed the red max and used Polglow that is made for boats and the result was the same look as the red max.
I might never wax another rv again but will know more in 2 to 3 years. Probably will redo the poliglow this summer as recommended.
