I don't care if it's base level or top of the line..I never said anything about complaints..I was talking full 1 year warranty versus 2 yr full warranty..I stated manufacturers that offer two year warranty's seem to, evidently feel better quality of what they're covering than others offering only one year...DRV, Jayco, and several others offer this two year warranty..Jayco is also, "only" Jayco, thus any Jayco's are coming from one manufacturer...More than several manufacturers manufacture other various named products.
This is the FIRST Jayco I've purchased, other than a pop-upthat I bought about 38 years ago...I did a lot of research based on towing and purchasing campers since 1975, and owning various 5er's..I'll be retiring at 66 yrs of age end of July...being an Engineer I REALLY did a lot of research, including looking at warranties..I really like the DRV TH, but the Jayco won out..I looked at two TH's OP is talking about and picked mine based on quality overall AND Warranty...Nothing wrong wit either he's looking at, but I also am looking at reliability and longevity., but a lot, for only 1 yr...Jayco does 2 yrs, speaks volumes of how they feel about the Quality of their product.
You stated:
Largely, most of these are built with the same construction techniques. What tends to vary is how hard it is to get service after the sale and how far the manufacturer will go to support the product after the sale.
EXACTLY my point...Look at service record of Jayco, one of the best...and they'll be there for you MIN 2yrs covering everything..of course some components and parts like any other camper will be covering for anywhere from 3 to 10 to 15 yrs.
