Best Used 5th wheel 26' or less

We are getting ready to step up to a newer 5th. Largest we can go is 26'. Desire rear kitchen. Want slide.

This is a loaded question as everyone has their likes and dislikes but what is the best built unit for around $10-20K?

I have been told Arctic Fox, Cougar, etc. Any honest help here would be very much appreciated!

We live in the Seattle area (just for reference)

Thanks!

  • How old? Alpenlite was made in Washington. Very well built. My 27sl 1994 is still solid at 20 yrs old.
  • Go a little bigger, you wont' regret it. Get the Artic Fox. wish we had them on the east coast.
  • There have (to my knowledge) been several Arctic Fox 5ers under 26 ft (model)

There was the 19-5L, center kitchen, almost no storage, weekend only rig. Stopped production in...2009(?)

There was the 21-5P(?) similar to the 19

There was the 23-5A, almost the same layout as the 24-5N, except no slideout.

The 26-5C was a center kitchen, single slide out unit, they stopped production in about 04

There was a 25-5??? that I think stopped production in the 90s. It was a bunk-house unit

Then there was the 24-5N which only stopped production in 2012. It was a rear kitchen, single slide out unit.
We owned one for a decade. For small rigs it had the most storage of any small 5er I ever saw. The main closet was huge. Plus under storage for both the dinner table and couch. They also had a cargo capacity (depending on model year) of between 3000 and 4000 lbs, with a total max weight of 11,000 lbs

Why with an F350, are you limiting yourself to a 26' 5er?
  • We have a 26SAB Cougar 5th wheel. While it certainly is not top of the line, we do love it. It does not have a rear kitchen, but does have a complete bathroom instead of shower or sink in the bedroom and we like that. I don't know if it measures 26 ft. My guess is is that it may be longer. Good luck with your search.
