- roman_travelerExplorerHey Cummins, welcome to the club, you're a "stalker" also. You need to ignore Kakampers. If any one questions anything about Heartland products she goes ape. She won't admit it, but she's on their payroll.

I'm not a fan of Thor, so therefore I would not own a Bighorn. When we bought our Cameo we looked at the BH and INMO it was a mid level quality with sparkle. They would not even offer disk brakes which was a necessity for us going full time.
Having said all that, it seems that all your problems have been OEM equipment issues and not Heartland issues, well except the water connection.
I have heard of Carriages and Mobile Suites and NuWa's with more problems. It seems that your rig has held up quite nicely! :)
I'm glad it has worked out well for you, as ours has for us.
Enjoy your rig!

We've have had our BH for two yrs. Love it but of course there were and are problems. Ice maker didn't work, waste water cable broke, hot water connection leaked, furnace board died etc. Still like it but like someone said you get a lemon sometimes, we have made alot of lemonade. - huckabyExplorerWe've have had our BH for two yrs. - kakampersExplorerMy suggestion would be stop "stalking" the Heartland threads...many thousands of satisfied owners can't all be wrong...and quite alot of us researched and chose Heartland over MS...much better value for the money in our "opinions"!....just saying....

Yeah we know....If it ain't a Mobile Suite it ain't any good....get over yourself! You don't see the rest of us putting your choice down...and I'm sorry, but insinuating that Heartland products are not a quality product IS "bad mouthing" our choices!!
I made a simple statement to look elsewhere and you get all in a tizzy.
I have looked at Heartland Bighorns and the quality in my opinion was just below Montana's.
He asked about quality I gave my opinion and if you can't handle my opinion just block me. I will never block anyone, we all have opinions and if you don't like them just move on.
I retired from the commercial construction industry building high end Medical and Dental Facilities where the standards were very high so I do know about quality and my job depended on it. - SoftballdadExplorerI had some upfront warranty issues that were taken care of on my 2008 BigHorn. Haven't had any other issues, and enjoy my unit.
- Roads_Less_TravExplorer IIWe were very impressed with their factory tour. They move their fifth wheels down the assembly line differently than the other manufacturers do. However, a dealer told us he stopped carrying them because they didn't handle warranty problems well.
Here's what their production line looks like (2nd half of page):
Elkhart Indiana & Heartland Factory Tour - Robin1953ExplorerWell if I had the resources to own a high-end I would go with an Excel or Mobil Suites...:-)) Since I don't have the resources...my 'lil Jayco serves me just fine. I know there are a few Heartland products here at the seasonal campground and the owners seem to be satisfied with them. YMMV
