- bpoundsNomadThe gutter downspout extensions work pretty well to reduce the streaks at the corners. I put them on about a year ago and the difference is obvious in less streaks.
I ain't gonna wash roofs. Just ain't gonna happen. Seriously though, reducing the life of the roof is not worth saving some work on black streaks. And make no mistake, washing rubber roofs reduces the life. - GPG52_Explorer IIJust one word of caution about using household cleaning products (Mr. Clean Magic Sponge, Spic and Span, worst of them all any dish washing detergent)
Many of these products have grease fighting ingredients... that is why they work so great to remove stubborn black streaks, road grime etc.
BUT,
the detergents will get under your decals and work away at the adhesive, with time you could develop decal peeling problems.
I agree with cleaning the roof.
My lazy man's solution is to take it a professional truck wash outlet (like Blue Beacon) they will hand clean our 37ft 5er, and TV for less than $40.00 and have an overhead shower system to clean the roof.
Well worth the cash outlay.

GPG
PS: Yes, RV are welcomed. - j2catfishExplorerSome one has suggested that you buy a black RV. HeHe.
Catfish - Dave_H_MExplorer III think it is a big enough pain to remove the streaks. But one thing for sure I have never in my life washed/cleaned the roof of any fifth wheel I had.
Whoah wash a roof three times a year. I only take the streaks off maybe twice a year. Each to his own I guess.
I think this one gets down to what makes a person comfortable and pleased. - Monaco_MontclaiExplorerblack streak remover, in a bottle, all rv stores have it.now its all happy-camping
