Black Water Flush Plugged Up

I have a 2002 Jayco Designer. I've never had problems with flushing the tank until recently. It seems the flush is plugged. I can hook pressure from the city water to it and it does not put water in the tank. I have removed the check valve and still does not put water in the tank.

Does anyone know how to unplug this line? Does anyone know how difficult it is to get to the end of the line at the tank or have any ideas on how to unplug it?

Thanks
Bob
  • We had the same problem when we purchased out 5er used from a dealer. They warranteded anything that needed fixed for 60 days after the purchase so it was fixed and replaced the back flow valve. I'm not sure how difficult it was to get to though.
  • Most flush systems have a back flow valve in the line someplace these valves can become stuck and prevent water flowing to the tank replacement is usually the only fix.

on edit reread op and see you removed the valve.
  • Let it set for a while and then dump the tank and see if your nozzles will work then.

Left mine for 5 days, fixed the problem.

    Until the next time.
  • We had the same problem when new,the line from the flush was kinked right at the tank.
  • If I understand the issue correctly... You can dump your black but you cannot get the rinse out nozzles on the interior of the tank to spray water into the tank. Try filling with fresh water and some detergent by using a hose down the toilet, use hot water if available. Let it set for a while and then dump the tank and see if your nozzles will work then.

I use a wand as the previous poster mentioned and that works for me. You do need some Clorox water and a rag available to clean off the hose if you want to use it again for anything else.

BTW how is the lake level. I was planning on fishing some in a week or so. I live in Las Cruces.
  • My tank flusher is mounted with two screws on the side of the tank. Never had or heard of a clogged flusher as they are located about half way up the tank wall. Is the line kinked? Let us know. If it were my rig I would try some compressed air through the line.
  • Bob,

I know on my blackwater flush if the black water valve isn't open it wonn't shoot water up into the tank.....

Gots lot of good memories of T or C town from the late 60s to just a year ago... Use to work the Space Surveillance Station North of Engle. Made a bunch of TDY trips working on the electronics... We always stayed at the Elephant Butte Inn... You cannot drink the T or C town dry for sure... All the troops out there would know me as RoyB on their teletype comms circuit to Headquarters in Virginia... It's all closed down now thanks to sequestration...

Maybe you can stick your high pressure hose down the pot into it... They also sell a pressure wan you can stick up inside the tank...

I have heard some folks will use a bunch of ice cubes in the tank and drive around the block a few times...

This happens when the poop pyramids on you sitting for a long time without flushing tank... The Australia campers always tell you theirs forms a pyramid in the other direction hehe...

    Just some of my thoughts...
