I don't understand the reason for lowing tire pressure on hot days but I am definitely no expert here (still learning). Living in Texas where everyone knows it gets HOTTER than HELLO, I was told by the place who installed our LT tires that cold tire pressure should be 80 PSI for our 5er. We check pressures in the morning before travel.
It was an experiment on one trip. Reasoning is, as tire gets hot air expands. Wanted to see if running at 78psi as apposed to 80psi would make any difference. It didn't experiment over.
