I looked up those tires and they appear to be rated as a summer tire with recommendations not to run near or at freezing temps. I live in the northeast where temps can be near freezing in early spring and late fall. Is this something I should be worried about?
No issues in a trailer position.
I've noticed the same USA made tread pattern types say nothing about not using in the winter. Most recommendations like that seem to be on non USA origin manufacturers tires.
The XPS Rib highway tread has a similar tread design but its still used on work trucks/vans/large SUVs 365 days a year.
Now if plan on off roading with the trailer on slippery slopes then a mud tire will work better.
So I talked with the tire experts at tirerack.com about my concerns and they said these tires are strickly summer tires. The treads and rubber used to manufacture them is not for use at near freezing temperatures. According to them not only is the tread not good on slippery conditions the tire could fail in freezing conditions. For Michelin the recommended the LTX M/S2 instead
